Managing welfare reform and child poverty commitments; what can local authorities do?
Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (GMT)Manchester, United Kingdom
Event Organized by Child Poverty Action Group and Salford City Council
The event will provide an overview of the Government’s welfare reform programme and an implementation timeline, as well as an indication of their impacts on low income families, before the event is opened up to discussion about how the impact of these across the region might be managed by local authorities and their partners.
The aim of the event is to both provide the space to look at the cumulative possible impact of these changes as well as exchange ideas about how local authorities can best manage these changes and mitigate their impact on child poverty in their area.
CPAG is hosting four of these events around England, and will provide a write up and toolkit of ideas to all participating local authorities later in 2013.
The event is free and all local authority, partner staff and front line workers are welcome to attend.
