Environmental Action Group members agreed previously

to start helping residents to clean their area so Residents met at Castlemere Community Centre under clear blue skies & sunshine and started the area second Milkstone & Deeplish litter pick this Saturday morning.

The Environmental Management of the Rochdale Council provided litter picks and the plastic bags. This cleaning campaign will be ongoing and will continuously recruit local people to become involved, take ownership and become members of the action group as “Street Champions “.

If you’re local to the area why not pop down lend a hand, or why not set up a local group for your street or neighbourhood?

The Rochdale Environmental Action Group meets at 10.00am each Saturday at the Castlemere Community Centre on Tweedale Street.

Anyone wishing to join the Group or help in any way, please contact the group’s founder members Christine Mathewson on 07788 656 666 or Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE 07851 323 612.
